A lot of changes in the theme options don't work!

Hello, There are a lot, but really a lot of changed that I did in the theme options that don't work or partially work. Examples: I disabled the Trending slider from all over the site but it is disabled only on homepage. I have 3 mini sites and the slider appears in every mini site, although your description says: "This globally disables the slider, even if you have it turned on in other areas of the theme (such as for a specific minisite or for archive pages)". The exact same problem I get with the Sizzlin' Slider. Example: whenever I try to change the background picture for a ministe is a real adventure. I need to do n clearing of the cache and refreshes, then use custom css, then re-upload the picture and finally it works. I want to change a picture now and I am afraid to mess with it anymore. Example: Body style - I used Firebug and saw that the font-size for the the-content was set to 13px; I changed it to 14px in your theme then reverted back top 13px. Needless to say that the font-size is shown by the inspector as 13px but it is much smaller than before, it is about 10-11px. I also can't use the custom CSS because it's not working!!! I managed to use hardcoding in the style.css but only part of the code is working. Example: I wrote the code for the main menu (ubbermenu): #uber-main-menu-full {background: url("images/main-menu-bg.png") repeat-x scroll left bottom #706771;} #megaMenu {background: url("images/main-menu-horizontal-bg.png") repeat-y scroll left top rgba(0, 0, 0, 0); After this code I have other code amongst which I have a text-align: justify for .the-content p If I comment out the top menu code, the text-align sets to justify. If I use the top menu code as I need to, the text-align: switches to left. I mean it is still justify in the code, but in frontend the text is left-aligned. I worked with a lot of WP themes but I never ever encountered problems like now. Fair enough, the theme is very complex but it is full of bugs. I need to go live with the site in one weeks and I really hope we can sort out all the problems by then. Thank you!

It sounds like there is an issue with your WordPress installation perhaps. None of this should be this complicated, and I see in your other ticket you started noticing some things after updating WordPress. Perhaps there was some sort of corruption or issue that happened when doing so that affected the rest of your site. I'm not hearing any of these issues being reported by any other of the 1300+ theme users (not that they don't exist, I'm just saying I haven't heard of them yet at least). So the very first thing to do to isolate the issue is:

Completely disable all of your plugins, then re-download a new copy of the theme from ThemeForest and overwrite all of your current theme files on your server with a fresh copy and see if that fixes the issue. You won't lose any content or settings since those are stored in the database, but if you have made any changes directly to any of the theme code then you should make a backup of your current theme files so you don't lose your changes.

Please let me know if you still experience issues after trying that and I'll give you further troubleshooting steps.

As I explained yesterday in another ticket, it seems that recopying all the theme files fixed the problems. Thank you for your assistance. I will check in the following days if the settings chosen in admin area are kept throughout the site.

I started today to setup the theme using the theme options and I still have problems when setting the background for minisites. I deactivated all plugins, copied your theme once again and the problem is the same: I once set a background for a minisite back when the site was developed on another domain. Now I tried changing it but no luck! When I inspect the code with Firebug I can still see the old background that the theme is trying to load from the previous domain. Somehow this background setting still remains somewhere in CSS but I checked the custom CSS and also style.css and it's not there. If I disable that background using the inspector I can see my background althought the "fixed" property that I chose is not working. So you see, I can do it via custom CSS, but these options are supposed to work out-of-the-box and they're not.

Are you using WordPress 3.9? If so there is some incompatibilities I'm working on fixing in the next theme update. If not let me know and it might be a different issue.

Found a solution to what I was referring to if you need to try the fix before updating: http://industrialthemes.ticksy.com/faq/2164/

I forgot to mention, I am using WP 3.8.3. I tried the fix with the 2 slashes but it didnțt solve my problem. I am having this problem since I first installed the theme. After this I copied the files about 3 more times and the problem didnțt go away. If you need, I can open a private ticket and send you the admin credentials.

Check the page background specifically in the layout options for your page and delete it if necessary. Also do the same for the minisite options within the theme options - that way you are basically clearing out any previous value there and it should use your site background. If you still have issues give me your login info (just reply with a private response to this ticket)

http://www.infozoom.ro/e-shops/ - this is the page with the background problem. So we are talking about the "Eshops" minisite.

I'm referring to this panel when editing the minisite page - are you able to find this? If not, it's possible you need to enable it in the Screen Options.

    Hi there,

I was busy with other projects but today I started wrapping up the CSS work on your theme. The problem is still there. There is only one place where I can change the background for a specific minisite and that place is under Theme Options - Minisite X - Background. There is a background picture that I need to change and I can't do it because the old picture is still there. I tried deleting it from the gallery and this was the only way I could make it disappear, but this is not a normal behavior. Next I uploaded a new picture and I just can't get it to show.

Please login admin panel and take a look. This is the minisite frontend:

    http://www.infozoom.ro/e-shops/

and the minisite name in admin panel is "Eshop" (the last minisite).

Also I noticed that you assigned the same class (it-background) for all minisites and this is just wrong. It prevents me from using the Custom CSS to change the background picture for a specific minisite. It also prevents me from using 2 background pictures for the same minisite, like this:

    .it-background {background: url("/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/bg.png") no-repeat top center; url("/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/bg2.png") repeat left top;}

So please, please, help me fix the background problem as I really need to finish the theme customization.

    Thank you!

ok, I finally found the problem. I had to change the background on the minisite homepage as well. Maybe a hint for this action could be placed in the theme options as I just lost 1 hour trying to upload a background. Anyway I need to use 2 backgrounds for a minisite, one that repeats on x and y and another one with no-repeat. IS it possible to do it since you used the same class for all minisites?

    Brian replied

Yes that is correct, you need to do this for each minisite front page - that is a known issue. I'll try to add that into the documentation somewhere to make it clearer.

I also managed to use 2 background images in custom css but I managed to do this with around 12 lines of code. Maybe it would be a good idea for the next update to assign a css class to each minisite. Example: if I setup ministe XYZ, asign it the class minisite-XYZ :)
