    Hi,

We're interested in improving the default search functionality - in particular the speed and quality of the results. I've tried using search plugins such as Relevanssi (https://www.relevanssi.com/) and Ajax Search Lite (https://wordpress.org/plugins/ajax-search-lite/).

By default both plugins should replace the default Wordpress search field with their own. Neither seem to do so with the Techwise theme.

Any ideas on why this might be? And if so, how to go about it improving the default search?

This page has the Ajax Search Lite shortcode on it:

    http://d32.dc1.myftpupload.com/search-test/

It does seem to be working, just not in the main search in the header.

    Thanks for the help,
    Andy

The ability to do this is not within the theme options and would require custom edits to the code within the theme files, which is outside the scope of free support (please read our support policy for further information: http://industrialthemes.ticksy.com/faq/743). If you have a question about the location of certain code within the theme, I would be glad to point you in the right direction of which theme file(s) contain that code. If you need to hire a developer to help you with theme customizations please send an email to support@industrialthemes.com and we can discuss the requirements of the custom work and estimate cost of work.
